Born in north London, Dr Ali Azim-Araghi grew up in Iran before returning to the UK when he was a teenager. Dr Ali received his BSc is Biomedical Sciences from Bradford University in 1999 before completing his PhD in Cancer Research at the University of Newcastle in 2003. Dr Ali spent a year as a post-doctoral scientist at Leicester University before starting his medical degree. Dr Ali completed his medical degree at Southampton University in 2009 and spent three years working at Southampton General Hospital. Dr Ali joined General Practice in 2015 after a 3-year training programme on the Isle of Wight and has been working at South Wight Medical Practice since August 2014 as a Registrar, then a locum doctor, before joining the Practice as a partner in April 2016. Dr Ali has a special interest in cancer and end of life care (palliative care), is going to be the diabetic lead for the Practice and is in the process of completing his Diabetic Diploma from Warwick University.
