A Level 3 heatwave warning has been issued for the South East of England.
On the Island there is a 90% chance of heatwave conditions between: 0900 on Monday 11 July and 0900 on Friday 15 July in the South East of England. Temperatures are expected to be hot or very hot, and to reach low 30s
Hot weather can affect everyone, especially the very young or very old and those with underlying health conditions. So don’t forget to:
☀️ Drink plenty of water and avoid excess alcohol
☀️ Try to keep out of the sun between 11am to 3pm (the hottest part of the day)
☀️ Walk in the shade, wear sunscreen and wear a hat if you have to go out in the sun
☀️ Wear light, loose fitting cotton clothes
☀️ Avoid physical exertion in the hottest part of the day
☀️ Close curtains on rooms that face the sun to keep them cooler
☀️ Turn off electrical items not in use to help keep rooms cool
☀️ Take care and follow local safety advice if you are going into the sea to cool down
